In
Church polity, we hold as scriptural and fundamental the principle of local
Church government by qualified men called elders and deacons who serve both the
eldership and the congregation. We have developed a blend of congregational and
Presbyterian types of structure that is limited to the local Church and does not
involve any kind of organisation that has power over a group of Churches. Each
individual Church is an autonomous unit and is sovereign under Christ's headship
alone. Each local Church, assembled as a congregation exercises all
ecclesiastical power and decisions thus made shall not be subject to change or
reversal by any other ecclesiastical body. Local Churches do fellowship, help
and co-operate with one another but are not organisationally linked. |
