The
classes of leadership in the Church are elders, cell leaders, deacons,
counsellors, and departmental heads. The
elders form the presbytery and are made up of persons of the five-fold ministry.
They are responsible for training leaders; this training is an on-going process
as a part of the life of the Church. The elders are appointed by the presbytery
and are not voted into office. The
cell leaders are chosen by the congregation -as exemplified in Acts 6 - and are
basically responsible for the home cells. The presbytery appoints the more
capable ones as deacons, counsellors and departmental heads. The
deacons do whatever kind of service the elders delegate to them and the
counsellors counsel with the young converts and help to establish them in the
faith and in discipleship.
